Ferguson Resource Group Ltd are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter based in Harrogate on behalf of one of our UK Defence Clients.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical mechanical systems, including boilers, cooling towers, generators, pumps, and compressed air systems. This is a varied and hands-on role, requiring a strong problem-solving mindset and technical expertise.
 
You will carry out fault-finding, calibration, and testing to ensure all plant equipment remains in top condition. Additionally, you will provide support in maintaining the water treatment plant for cooling towers and assist in the inspection and reassembly of boilers and air receivers.
  
What you’ll need:
To be successful in this role, you must have an NVQ Level 3 qualification or a recognized apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, along with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in mechanical maintenance. It is highly desirable that you should hold an Emergency First Aid at Work certification. 
 
It would be advantageous to have experience working with large generator sets and controls, as well as familiarity with CMMS systems for maintenance management. IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, is also desirable. 
 
Due to the security requirements of the role, you must be a UK or US national and capable of obtaining DV Enhanced Security Clearance.
